Welcome to the new and improved Population Statistics!

This website tracks and displays population statistics for zones of the game Continuum (formerly known as Subspace).
This is done by requesting the population of specific zones every minute. Every 5 minutes graphs are generated from these results and displayed at this website.

Directory Servers

Every 5 minutes the complete list of zones are requested from the known directory servers of the game. The results are displayed under 'Directory Servers' menu item: population graphs and a complete list of the returned zones per directory server.

Zone population comparison

Note there are two comparison graphs available under the Zones menu item. Currently only the SSCE, SSCU and SSCX zones can be compared as these zones are the most stable.
The first graph is showing the total population having all the zones stacked upon eachother, the second graph simply shows the population of the zones in one graph.

Displaying graphs on your own website

You're free to use any of the displayed graphs for your own website: the graphs are exported into static image files, preventing resource problems when serving them on other websites.

Displaying population count on your own website

If you want to display the population count of a specific zone on your website, I suggest you take a look at the PHP ping client by Goldeye.
This client only works on ASSS servers but is easily convertible to be subgame compatible using the Ping protocol.

Upcoming / todo

What is still being worked upon and will be released in the future:
  • Querying the directory servers using encryption; All done! Check out the directory server sscentral.sscuservers.net!

  • Scrolling of the population graphs; instead of only showing the last hour/day/week/month/year(s), there are going to be buttons added to the side of the graph that enables you to shift the graph to a different time period.
For example with the daily graph, this enables you to view the daily population of two weeks earlier.

  • Compatibility with Internet Explorer concerning layout issues (page should extend to bottom of window like in Chrome and FF).

  • Twitter updates with zone list changes of the directory servers.

If you see any problems / errors with the website or graphs, please let me know by using the form at the Contact page.

Have fun!

Population graphs were not being refreshed

For about a week the population graphs haven't been refreshed because the host of this site decided to get rid of the crontab.

The crontab has been restored as well as some other modifications to make sure this site keeps running.
